Nicole Caldwell is a professional writer and journalist ,as well as owner, co-founder, and executive director of Better Farm. She holds a master's degree from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree from Hampshire College. Nicole serves as president of the Redwood Neighborhood Association, has a weekly column in the Thousand Islands Sun, and works on the advisory board of the North Country Arts Council. She is also an active volunteer with the Macsherry Library, and member of the JCJDC, Watertown Evening Rotary, and Greater Watertown Jaycees.

Scott Smith, Treasurer
Scott Smith is an Active Duty Army Captain who works for Clarkson Army ROTC assisting soldiers in transitioning into college to become officers. Scott is a 25-year veteran, most recently as an Infantry Company commander deployed in support of OEF and responsible for the training, equipping, and deployment of almost 10,000 ANA Soldiers. Scott served the last 10 years assigned to Fort Drum with deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, Djbouti, Ethiopia, Haiti, Sinai, and Panama. He is Ranger, Airborne, Pathfinder, and Air Assault qualified, and has received a Bronze Star medal, 2 Meritorious Service Medals, Combat Infantryman's Badge, and Expert Infantryman's badge. Scott is the father of 2 children; Payton, 11, and Cherica, 8.
