BetterArts hosts an annual Forest Art Studio for Saplings for children ages 3-10 at our Better Farm campus. This program is made free with the support of the Northern New York Community Foundation’s Wilcox Community Fund for Theresa.

We spend two one-day sessions (10 a.m.-1 p.m. each day) exploring nature, gathering materials (leaves, sticks, plants, rocks, clay, and other found objects), and making art. Activities include:

  • Morning walk gathering natural materials and observing nature

  • Prints from natural objects (leaves, flowers, bark)

  • Small sculptures (fairy houses, clay-rich dirt)

  • Natural crowns

  • Plein air painting
